Support

I've been watching my mom's cousin's dog Reilly since Sunday night. She's the terrieriest terrier I've ever been around...and I thought my dogs were crazy.

Anyway, I'm not at my computer so I haven't been doing all the usual research and such, so I don't have any fun news. I have played all the way through "God of War" now, and it was very well done. I'm not sure if it was short or I just played it constantly because I'm in a house all alone and wasting time is acceptable, but I rented it last Thursday and finished it yesterday. One of the main developers said something about wanting to make the player feel like he had tons of power and could really punish the enemies, and this was accomplished wonderfully. Since it was a short one, I'd say definitely rent it if you're into that sort of thing...you know, killing stuff.

Also, I'm halfway through "Wolf's Rain" now and I do love it. It's got a great feel to it, and I always want to watch more. It does not, however, inspire a desire to cheat on anyone (Katy) even though I love it so. The only gripe is that the semi-inexpensive box-set I bought from Anime Toys (no shipping, either) has a subtitle translation that is RIDICULOUS!!! I just watched an episode with no more than two, yes TWO correct sentences in the subtitling. Very disappointing. But when I'm rich I can buy the real thing and not worry about it. Someone's going to get a present in a couple years...a present with bad subtitles. Otherwise it's awesome. Definitely worth checking out for fans of any anime.

Finally I wanted to say thank you to those of you who have been supporting this silly little blog. Katy (Kate) has been kind enough to mention it in her livejournal which will hopefully really get the ball rolling. Isn't technology exciting? Also a quick thanks to Dan, Adam (aka mind reader, aka justice police, aka my psycho brother), Sara, and Rebecca (hasn't posted anything, but at least she responded to my email about the blog). Posts in my blog make me feel like this isn't all for nothing and it gives me a great sense of joy.

PS - I'm going to Bistro Wasabi tonight for dinner. It's Katy's Birthday tomorrow (and her sister Sara's) so I'm taking her out tonight. Hey...maybe we'll call Sara too. Katy only wants the magnificent Maguro Salad, but we're also getting the Crab Rangoon Roll. If you like crab rangoon you'll love this maki. It's not on the menu but if you ask for it we'll know what you mean.

FIREFOX

*UPDATE*

In my rushed posting I forgot to mention one of the best features of Firefox: adblock. Just go here to get all sorts of extensions that make internet life easier. The adblocker makes it so you can right click an ad or picture on a site and block it forever. This makes loading times faster and also reduces clutter so you can focus on the actual content of the site. Have fun.

In case you don't have it yet, you must download Mozilla's Firefox web browser. It has tons of features and customizations that you can't get nearly as easily with Internet Explorer including tabbed browsing, which I love. Also, for some reason Firefox is the only browser that displays this blog correctly. I've been trying to edit the HTML, but I have absolutely no training and I'm done trying. So download it at the Mozilla link in the Links section and enjoy.

The E! SOS Poll results are in

Every year the E! Channel takes a poll of all the shows that are in danger of being cancelled in order to help at least one of them stay alive. This year the response was overwhelming. Although "Arrested Development" is easily one of the greatest shows every made, I am happy that "Veronica Mars" was supported this much. Here is the list of all 15 shows that are on the chopping block, if you will, and some other information from E!'s Kristin Veitch. Skeptics should reconsider their opinions of "VM." It is really a great show with good, smart writing. Give both of these shows a try if you haven't done so yet, they both deserve to be on for many years.

PS - For those who care, it appears that "Tru Calling" will be returning for a second season on March 31 at 7:00pm central time with a 2 hour premiere. I guess Scarface just couldn't leave Eliza Dushku alone any longer.

Are these Answers better than Google's?

Do you sometimes find that a Google search gives you a few too many options when it comes to finding information? Do you want a simple way to research giraffes and find out what those horns are really made of? I think it may be the easiest to find your Answers with this search engine that makes good use of Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia, to take you directly to a description of whatever you type into the search box. Try it out, I think you'll find it easy to quickly discover the basic information of whatever you're interested in.

First download: Picasa 2

I have never been too into keeping all my photos organized on my computer, but now I have found the perfect tool for the job. The software giant Google has developed a program called Picasa 2 that makes it easy to organize and share photos. There is also a minimal, but very functional editor that can spruce up your pics quite nicely and add some pretty cool lighting effects. Since it is made by Google it connects seemlessly to Gmail and you can send your pictures right from the program using your Gmail account. You are also supposed to be able to upload pictures to this particular blogger easily, so watch out for some pictures every now and then. Check out the program and tell me what you think.

Not what you might think...

Hey,

I wanted to start this so I had a way to spread the fun news that I learn about in various ways concerning the internet/technology, movies, etc... I will do my best to come up with good information that I hope others might be excited about too.
